iPhone App of the Year: Spectre Camera

Lux Optics‘ long-exposure app, Spectre, was named iPhone app of the year by Apple Inc. Spectre uses AI to help make long-exposure photographs to remove crowds from busy city streets, turn nighttime highways into rivers of light and make waterfalls look like paintings.

Spectre’s intelligent computational shutter takes hundreds of shots over the span of a few seconds and saves them in an accompanying live photo. The app uses machine-learning-based scene detection and computer-vision image stabilization to create impressive images, even while handheld.
